G D Somani exerted total domination when they encountered Billabong International (Santacruz) in the Nike MSSA inter-school boys under-16 Division IV football match at Azad Maidan on Saturday.

In the first half itself Billabong were outplayed when G D Somani took a 4-1 lead. The second half was no different and finished with the same scoreline as G D Somani romped to a 8-2 win.

Souvrat Ghatiwala scored a hat-trick while Fenil Jain, Sumeet Khanna, Siddharth Thappar, Sourik Banerjee and Santosh Ram chipped in with a goal each. Ihaad Khan's brace saved Billabong from drawing a blank.

After earning only eight points from four games with two wins and two draws, Somani are in a tight position to qualify for the play-offs.

Souvrat, who is representing his school for the first time at the inter-school level, said: "I don't feel very happy. Although we won with a huge margin, our chances to qualify are very poor. I wish this hat-trick came much before in the tournament."
