The home team elected to bat first on a sticky wicket after winning the toss — a move which clearly backfired as they lost four top-order batsmen with just six runs on the board.
Three of those wickets were scalped by left-arm spinner Alpesh Ramjani while the fourth went into skipper Santosh Shinde's kitty.
Sunil Chavriya (52 runs) and RCF captain Dinar Goankar then arrested the slide, posting a 54-run stand for the fifth wicket.
However, a splendid over from Prashant Auti, where he clinched four wickets including a hat-trick, saw RCF post 102 on board.
Chasing 103, Greater Mumbai Police kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were reduced to 68 runs at the loss of 5 wickets. However, Hanuman Hirapur and Nilesh Bhoir ensured that there were no more hiccups by taking their team home with 18 balls to spare.
Alpesh Ramjani was adjudged the man of the match while Sunil Patil (Greater Mumbai Police) was named as the man of the series and the best batsman for his 156 runs in the tournament.
Somsingh Rawal of RCF was adjudged the best bowler for his 8 wickets while Brijesh Poojari (Serco) was given the best fielder trophy by former Test cricketer Karsan Ghavri, who was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony.
