Pakistan's runaway 'keeper, Zulqarnain Haider is panicking now as he feels his pocket is empty.

Speaking exclusively to MiD DAY from England, he said, "I have now moved into my friend's (Liaquat Ali, not the cricketer) place at Manchester and not living in any hotel in London.

"I first came here with 900 pounds in my purse and can't afford a hotel." Haider is uncertain about his duration in England: "I haven't decided about my return. It is also not decided whether I would be in a position to have my wife and two daughters here," he added.

Haider is yet to be re-approached by the ICC's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) and also by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on his fleeing to England.

"Pray for me. This is the first time I shall be celebrating Eid without my family members," he said.

Haider has still not signed with Lashings World XI where he has been invited to play. The club has sheltered players (Pakistan's Rashid Latif, Zimbabwe's Henry Olonga) in a similar situation in the past.u00a0 It is learnt that has been offering Haider help over the phone.

Latif was shunned by the cricket establishment in his home country for blowing the whistle on various match-fixing scandals over a decade ago.
