Harmanpreet Kaur's coach Yaduvinder Singh Sodhi's inspiring words to his ward before the Women's World Cup semi-final against Australia on Thursday may have worked in her favour as the Indian vice-captain smashed a career-best 171* off 115 balls for a winning cause. "I did speak to her before the match. I told her that your dream to win the World Cup for India is not far and you have to deliver in the next two matches. She delivered in the first and let us see what she does in the final now," Sodhi told mid-day over the phone yesterday.

Practicing with boys has made Kaur a better player, according to Sodhi. "Girls practising with boys is a common sight in our Gian Jyoti Cricket Academy (in Punjab). The girls can improve by playing with the boys," he added.
