Chelsea are hopeful Didier Drogba's head injury will be confirmed as nothing more serious than concussion after the Ivory Coast striker was taken to hospital during his side's 3-1 win over Norwich.

The Ivory Coast forward was stretched off at Stamford Bridge on Saturday after a mid-air collision with Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy that was compounded by a heavy fall to the turf.
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas said: "Didier is showing some signs of recovery now. He lost consciousness completely on the pitch and I have to be grateful to my players, the Norwich players and the medical staff that they reacted so quickly to a potentially dangerous situation.
"We are waiting for the full exams of his concussion and hopefully nothing is wrong.u00a0 We hope for his well-being as a person first."
