Mumbai lad Sharma says his preparation is 100 per cent to be part of India's Playing XI in tomorrow's Sydney Test

There are increasing calls for Rohit Sharma to replace Virat Kohli in India's XI for the second Test here at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) starting tomorrow. Rohit would have made his Test debut against South Africa in February 2010 if it wasn't for a freak injury on the eve of the match.

The likes of Tony Greig and Ian Chappell called for Rohit's inclusion after Kohli's twin failure (11 & 0) at Melbourne last week. When asked if the management had informed him of a potential debut, Rohit said, "As far as the team combination is concerned, we have not decided anything yet.

Maybe tomorrow (Monday) we will have a better idea as to what the wicket will be like, and take those decisions. Probably by tomorrow I will be told whether I am going to play or not," he told reporters yesterday.

'Must be ready'
Rohit said he was mentally ready should he be picked.u00a0 "Of course, I am ready. My preparation has to be 100 per cent. Ever since the tour started, I am staying prepared. It doesn't matter if I'm playing or not, the preparation has to be the same.

I have to be ready to play each and every time. Because you never know, somebody might get injured on the day of the Test. It's important to be always ready," he added.

The Mumbai lad downplayed talk that Australian bowlers had struck physiological blows to Indian batsmen. "Shaken up? No, of course not. We have to accept that they bowled really well.

"Our batsmen did well in the first innings, but unfortunately couldn't manage that in the second innings. Credit goes to their bowlers. There's no question of getting intimidated," he said.
