Dinesh Chandimal, who plays for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, turned up to watch the action in the Red Bull Campus Cricket here yesterday. "I was playing in the IPL, but since I am an ambassador of Campus Cricket, they requested me to come for a short time," said Chandimal.
He averages 38.67 and has scored two hundreds in 35 ODIs. “I decided to be auctioned (for IPL-V) following the approval of Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara.

“I seek their advice in everything I do,” said Chandimal, who was bought by Royals in the last u00a0auction for $50,000. He now wants to get a taste of county cricket.
He bats at No 4 in ODIs but would like to bat in the opening position in T20 cricket. “My favourite position is No 4, but in the T20 format, I would like to open the innings which will give me time to build an innings,” he felt.u00a0
