ICC Test Rankings: No Indians in Top 10

Sachin Tendulkar and Zaheer Khan are the highest on the ICC Test ranking for batsmen and bowlers respectively at 12.

ICC Test Rankings: No Indians in Top 10

Sachin Tendulkar held on to the joint 12th spot to be the highest-ranked Indian batsman in the latest ICC Test rankings as no Indians were ranked in the top list of bowling or batting.


In the bowling list, pacer Zaheer Khan is the highest-ranked Indian in the list at the 12th spot.


Meanwhile, West Indies fast bowler Kemar Roach has achieved a career-best ranking after producing a man of the match performance in the Port-of-Spain Test against Australia which ended in a draw yesterday, ICC said in a statement.


Roach recorded figures of 27-5-105-5 and 18-4-41-5 which not only won him the man of the match award but also earned him a jump of 16 places to put him in 18th position.

The 23-year-old is now the West Indies' highest-ranked bowler with captain Darren Sammy and Fidel Edwards occupying 22nd and 27th positions, respectively.

South Africa's Dale Steyn leads Pakistan's Saeed Ajmal by a distance in the rankings for Test bowlers, with England's James Anderson in third position.

In the rankings for Test batsmen, Shivnarine Chanderpaul has swapped places with Australia captain Michael Clarke.

Chanderpaul, who scored 94 in the first innings, has moved up two places to third position while Clarke has dropped two places to fifth spot after scoring 45 and 15.

West Indies' Darren Bravo has broken into the top 20 for the first time in his career in 19th position while former Australia captain Ricky Ponting has dropped out of the top 20 and is in 21st spot.

AB de Villiers of South Africa is the number-one ranked batsman in the world, followed by team-mate Jacques Kallis.

In the Reliance ICC Player Rankings for Test all-rounders, Shane Watson has slipped one place to fifth position while West Indies captain Darren Sammy has moved up two places to 11th spot. The list is headed by Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan with South Africa's Jacques Kallis in second spot.
