ICC asks Younis, Broad to present views on Lankan team attack

International Cricket Council has asked Pakistan captain Younis Khan and ICC match referee Chris Broad to submit their views on the recent terror attack on Sri Lankan team in Lahore when its executive board meets in Dubai tomorrow and Saturday.

Since Younis is already in Dubai for the one-day series against Australia, he has been asked by the ICC to take part in the discussions on the incident.

Englishman Broad, who made some scathing remarks after returning home and blamed lack of security for the attack on March 3, will also present a detailed report to the executive board members and will take questions as well.

"The ICC board is going to discuss the attack on the Sri Lankan team in detail as it has had wide ranging repercussions on international cricket," one source in the Pakistan Cricket Board said.

Sources said Younis would be asked about the attack as the Pakistan team bus left five minutes after the Sri Lankans and avoided coming under fire.

The PCB is also expected to present a detailed report on the attack. Sri Lankan skipper at that time, Mahela Jayawardene would present his views on telephone as he is in South Africa.

Broad, who also came under fire when the Lankan team was attacked, had told a press conference after returning to England security forces had left them like sitting ducks at the mercy of the attackers.
