Delhi Daredevils play against Chennai Super Kings at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium here today.
"Whether the team has qualified or not, it wanted to play well against CSK today. We performed well in the previous contest against them, although we did not win," Amre said at pre-match press conference "But definitely at whatever position we are, we are taking this game as important because it's against CSK," he said.
"Our team is in rebuilding phase with lot of youngsters who want to perform well," he added. Asked about the team's batting line-up failing to deliver, the 46-year-old former India player said, "We haven't been consistent. The fact is that we could not deliver the way we wanted. But like in the last match, Kedar Jadhav (63 runs)
did, he was very much happy with the way he batted then Saurabh Tiwari also came up well."
"Obviously when we have not qualified there are so many weak points. But at this particular time we can say that there are couple of youngsters who are doing well and we think they can deliver well next year with the experience," he added.
Over the difficult playing condition at Raipur, Amre said, "This is a part of the game as the IPL is in May. This is also variable. We played in Chennai and Mumbai and that was also very hot. We can¿t complain about that because not only we are playing but the opponent is also playing."
Replying to a query about Yuvraj Singh's poor performance in the tournament, he said, "You must have seen he has performed well in couple of matches. I don't think there is something with his confidence. In T20 matches sometimes such situations arrive when you can't do anything.
"But we hope that in tomorrow's match everybody would perform well and all eleven players would deliver," he added.
