Former India skipper and chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar hailed Team India's first ever-overseas whitewash. "It's a superb win for Virat Kohli and all the players," Vengsarkar told mid-day yesterday.
Vengsarkar applauded all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who scored his maiden first-class century (108) in the Kandy Test and ended up with a batting average of 59.33. "Hardik is the find of this Test series. With his all-round ability, he grabbed the opportunity very well. I hope he keeps his head on his shoulders," said Vengsarkar.

When asked about the below-par opponents, Vengsarkar said: "A clean sweep is a clean sweep; 3-0 is a big victory margin whoever the opposition is. Team India deserve all accolades for their outstanding performance."
