India won the toss and elected to bat in the first Test against Sri Lanka at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday.


While pacers Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma made it to the team, S Sreesanth has been left out. India is also playing two spinners u2013 Harbhajan Singh and Amit Mishra.


Meanwhile, Sri Lanka has decided to leave out Ajantha Mendis.


The Teams

India: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (capt; wk), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, VVS Laxman, Harbhajan Singh, Ishant Sharma, Zaheer Khan, Amit Mishra.
Sri Lanka: Kumar Sangakkara (capt; wk), Tillakaratne Dilshan, Mahela Jayawardene, Prasanna Jayawardene, Muttiah Muralitharan, Dammika Prasad, Rangana Herath, Tharanga Paranavitana, Thilan Samaraweera, Angelo Mathews, Chanaka Welegedara.
