India women suffered a 33-run loss at the hands of England in their first Twenty20 International match here on Tuesday.
Chasing 138 for victory, India could manage only 104 for eight in 20 overs. India’s chase began poorly when Katherine Brunt dismissed both openers in successive overs to reduce the visitors to 20 for 2 in five overs. Only skipper Mithali Raj (26) and wicketkeeper Sulakshana Naik (25) managed decent scores.
