Italy join Confederations Cup qualifiers

Italy booked a place in the Confederations Cup in Brazil after they reached the final of Euro 2012 with a 2-1 win over Germany.

Spain are also through to Sunday’s final in Kiev but they were already pre-qualified for next summer’s event as they are also world champions, hence Italy will represent Europe even if they lose the showdown.u00a0

Japan competing from Asia, Uruguay and Mexico also in the mix as South American and CONCACAF American champions respectively while Brazil play as upcoming World Cup hosts.
