The third and hopefully the last part of Kaun Banega KKR Coach unfolded at Mannat, the plush residence of the Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner Shah Rukh Khan yesterday.

And if the grapevine is to be believed, it's going to be a toss-up between former India coach John Wright, the last man to be interviewed yesterday, and former Pakistan coach Richard Pybus, who had flown in last week.

Wright, who was instrumental in the Indian team's success earlier in the decade, was involved in a discussion with the KKR top brass including SRK, marquee player Sourav Ganguly and Chief Executive Officer Joy Bhattacharya that lasted well over two hours the longest interaction of the day.

Earlier in the day, Mumbai Ranji coach Praveen Amre, former India coach Sandeep Patil and former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram also spelt out their plans to revive KKR, who finished sixth and eighth respectively in the first two seasons of the Indian Premier League.

Amre, who was the first to arrive, told MiD DAY it was a healthy discussion. "We discussed how KKR could be improved and I presented my perspective on how things can turn around."

The former India middle-order batsman, however, told the KKR management that his priority remained with the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team. This could effectively bring the curtains down on Amre's chances of being offered any role since KKR are looking out for those able to spare at least nine months a year.

Meanwhile, the coach interview process, resembling a television reality show, concluded with Wright being the 11th candidate. However, you will have to wait for "a few days", according to Bhattacharya, before the winner is announced.
