Australian cricket star Brett Lee, yesterday donned the mantle of a healer when he inaugurated his Music Therapy Academy as one of the core initiatives of his charity foundation "Mewsic" in India.
Lee instituted the foundation in 2011 to help the sick with music therapy, following in the footsteps of his mate and former Australian captain Steve Waugh whose foundation supports underprivileged children and the girl child in India.

Lee, who retired from Test cricket in 2010 after being troubled by injuries said, it was quite a challenge to keep himself motivated but music helped him cope with several personal crises. “At 17, I was told by the doctor that I could never play cricket because of an elbow injury but I told him I will live my dream. Music had a huge role to play in keeping me motivated. Music provided relief after a bad day in cricket,” he said.
“I am passionate about music — perhaps even more so than cricket. Actually, if you took cricket out of my life, I’d be sad. But if you took music out of my life, I’d be devastated,” he added.
