The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made no mention of the spot fixing and betting scandal that rocked the sixth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in its Annual report. The Annual General Meeting was held in Chennai last month.
The 128-page report finds no mention of the biggest scandal in Indian cricket after the match fixing saga in 2000. In fact, president N Srinivasan and secretary Sanjay Patel have termed the sixth edition a great success.

“The IPL, in its sixth year, was a great success in terms of cricket content and attendance at all matches,” Srinivasan said in the report.u00a0
Surprisingly, there is not even a passing reference of the corruption in the IPL.

“The sixth edition of the IPL topped the popularity charts, like its predecessors. The fact that the annual tournament has had five different winners in six seasons speaks a lot for this inherently competitive League,” Patel stated in the report.
According to the report, the IPL-VI final reached out to 58 million viewers, the highest in all editions of the cash rich tournament.u00a0
