The allegation relates to the altercation between Jadeja and England bowler James Anderson as they made their way off for lunch on Day Two of the first Test at Trent Bridge.
India decided on Tuesday to charge Anderson at Level 3 — under which guilt is punishable by up to a four-Test ban — and the England and Wales Cricket Board immediately made clear its intention to send a counter-allegation against Jadeja to Dubai.
On Wednesday afternoon, the eve of the second Test at Lord's, the ICC acknowledged receipt. All Level 2 breaches carry a fine of between 50-100 per cent of a match fee or a possible one-Test ban.
