Pune Warriors thrashed Kings XI Punjab by seven wickets in their maiden Indian Premier League match at the DY Patil Stadium here yesterday.

The new entrants restricted Punjab to 112-8 with Alfonso Thomas (2-27) and Shrikanth Wagh (3-16) doing the damage.

Kings XI Punjab scored 112 for eight. Ryan McLaren scored an unbeaten 51 after Kings XI Punjab were struggling at 45-6. Shrikant Wagh took three wickets and Alfonso Thomas two. Wagh was declared the man of the match.
