Australia batsman Rob Quiney is hoping he did enough on debut to hold onto his spot when the second Test against South Africa commences in Adelaide on Thursday.
Quiney could only manage nine runs in his first innings for Australia, but a strong fielding performance and some handy part-time bowling impressed many. “You only get a small amount of opportunities and I really want to take them,” Quiney said.
“But if Shane (Watson) doesn’t get up and is still unfit then I feel ... I have got a job to do now so if I do get the chance I will knuckle down and get some runs,” he said.
