Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) president Ravi Savant, who is also the Honorary Treasurer of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), will attend the Indian board's much-awaited Annual General Meeting on September 29 in Chennai as per a decision in the managing committee meeting on Saturday.
However, it is learnt that it wasn’t a unanimous decision. A source said: “Sharad Pawar’s name was proposed by a few members. But the Bal Mahadalkkar group members refused.

They wanted their leader Savant to attend the AGM. Since they hold the majority in the managing committee, their proposal was passed.”
Pawar, a former MCA, BCCI and ICC chief, is reportedly keen to come back to Mumbai cricket administration and is one of the favourites to clinch the president’s post in next month’s biennial elections.u00a0
