Swiss tennis great Roger Federer can bat as well as he can play tennis, or so it seems! During his Round-of-16 Wimbledon match against Adrian Mannarino on Monday, Federer gave fans a glimpse of a forward defensive shot.

Mannarino had already won the point when Federer hit a ball long but he hit the ball back to the Swiss master anyway, and Federer stylishly got onto his front foot and defended the ball off the middle of his racquet.

India cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar was impressed by Federer's skill and wrote to him on Twitter: "As always, great hand-eye co-ordination. @rogerfederer, let's exchange notes on cricket and tennis after you win your 9th @Wimbledon title." Federer replied: "Why wait? I'm ready to take notes!"
