who is ranked 202 on ATP charts, rallied to defeat sixth seeded Moya 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 in a gruelling 131 minute second round encounter of the $4,50,000 event.
Moya was making his seventh appearance in the tournament which was incepted eight years ago with title wins in 2004 and 2005.
Somdev, who is unseeded here, next plays fourth seeded Ivo Karlovic of Croatia, who beat Tvo Minar of Czech Republic 6-1, 6-4 in another second round match.
