A spectacular hat-trick by Sunny Thakur, his third of the tournament, helped St Francis D'Assisi, Borivali win the Boys' under-16 Ahmad-Sailor Knock-out Tournament in a high-scoring game.
They staved off the challenge of Mazgaon's St Mary's (SSC) and win the contest 5-2. The prolific striker finished with a whopping 15 goals in five games.
Sunny was well supported by his partner on the left wing Clive Patel who scored the opener for D'Assisi and eventually got a brace in his kitty.
Deepak Mehta and Francis Fernandes did help Mary's stay in the hunt, however two late goals from Sunny proved too much for the Mazgaon side.
Interestingly, Sunny wasn't confirmed a place in starting eleven as he had contracted conjunctivitis.
