Chennai: Trevor Bayliss says England are "more than happy" for Alastair Cook to continue as captain. Cook is due to speak with England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) managing director Andrew Strauss next month as speculation over his position as captain grows in the wake of a convincing series defeat in India.
Speaking after another day for England which saw India run up a mammoth 759 for seven declared, Bayliss said Cook's future is something only he can decide. Bayliss told Sky Sports 2: "I think after this Test match I'm sure Cooky will sit down and he's the only one who can make that decision. As I said before, from our point of view, if he wants to continue we're more than happy for him to continue. But after a long stint as captain, that's a decision that only he can make."
