“I don't give too much importance to these things (money matters). I am very happy for all that Allah has given me in life,” Pathan told MiD DAY yesterday at the Dr DY Patil Stadium, Nerul where he slammed a 32-ball 40 to help Reliance score 150-7 against hosts DY Patil Sports Academy 'B' in the Dr DY Patil T20 Cup. Reliance, who finished runners-up in the last edition, won by 30 runs.
The last couple of years have been quite challenging for the Baroda dasher, who last played an international match in March 2012. Pathan had a modest 2013-14 Ranji Trophy season as well, scoring 373 in 13 innings and claiming 24 wickets with his off-spin in seven matches. He also missed out on the ICC World T20 list of 30 probables released recently by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Confident
Pathan, however, was confident of making a comeback in the Indian team soon. “I am still happy and enjoying my cricket. I am feeling confident. This tournament has set the tone for the remainder of the season. I am working hard and I am confident of making a comeback very soon,” he said.
