The 10th edition of the Indian Premier League is set to start tonight. But even before the cash-rich T20 league kicks off, franchises are doing their best to woo their fans.
Rising Pune Supergiant appointed Australian Steve Smith the skipper in place of former India captain MS Dhoni recently and the Aussie is trying his hardest to connect with his Indian fans.
After a India-Australia Test series, that saw him lose points among Indians due to his 'brain fade' moments, Smith is trying to script a new chapter in India with the Pune team.
And towards that goal, RPS shared a video on social media that sees Smith wearing a traditional 'Puneri' attire and trying to speak Marathi.RPS also shared a photograph of India batsman Ajinkya Rahane almost introducing the all new Smith on Twitter to the Pune fans.
