"I was insulted several times by Gautam. He asked questions like 'who made you a selector and how many matches have you played?' I shot back saying it was none of his business to ask who appointed me. I also told him that I have played Duleep Trophy, Irani Cup and matches against touring teams boasting of world-class attacks. What shocked me was none of my co-selectors said anything to Gautam about his behaviour.
"I contemplated resigning midway into the Ranji Trophy season, but I was persuaded to continue. I don't know what lies ahead for me in the next season," a hurt Gidwani told mid-day. Although Delhi's Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Ashish Nehra are a regular in the Indian team, Gidwani is not very optimistic about the future of Delhi's cricket. "We have talented players, but they are not realising their potential. They need to be consistent," Gidwani signed off.
