National Football League (NFL) star Tom Brady's supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen managed to achieve what conservationists and scientists have failed to do by persuading Brazil's president Michel Temer to veto a legislation that would have slashed protected reserves in the Amazon, reported The Guardian.
Brazil's president Temer
Temer replied to a message from Bundchen to announce that he will veto plans to cut conservation in the Amazon. In her tweet last week, Bundchen urged Temer to block a bill that would have opened up 600,000 hectares (1.5m acres) of forest to development.
She wrote: "It's our job to protect our Mother Earth."
The Brazil president probably had a think about Bundchnen's suggestion thereafter. And replying to the model's tweet yesterday, he announced that he was vetoing the proposed legislation.
