Chelsea striker Costa has been charged for apparently swinging his arm at Laurent Koscielny during Saturday's game, with Arsenal's Gabriel charged for his reaction to being sent off for kicking out at Costa shortly after.

Costa twice appeared to strike Koscielny with his hand at the end of the first half and then became embroiled in an altercation with Gabriel, for which both players were booked. Gabriel's teammate Santi Cazorla has also been warned as to his behaviour following his dismissal later in the game, while both teams were charged with failing to control their players.

Costa, who risks a three-game suspension if found guilty, has until 17:00 GMT today to respond to his charge, while Gabriel and the two clubs have until the same time on Thursday.

Arsenal announced yesterday that they have made a claim for wrongful dismissal regarding Gabriel and are seeking to have his three-match ban overturned.
