The Frenchman had restricted himself to the manager's role for Mumbai this season but is close to recovering from his injury that will enable him to shoulder playing responsibilities as well.
"Very, very soon," Mumbai City assistant coach Oscar Bruzon told reporters on Saturday when asked how soon the marquee player will take the field. Asked specifically if the former Chelsea and Arsenal star would feature against FC Goa on Sunday, Bruzon said, "Probably. There is a chance."
Mumbai have garnered four points from four matches to occupy last on the league table and a victory today would take them to at least to the fifth spot in the eight-team table.
The clash against Goa will be Mumbai's third successive home and they had lost the first against Chennai before reversing the trend in the next against the Delhi franchise.
