Defender Ramiro Funes put his side ahead at the stroke of half-time before City winger Gonzalez Jesus Navas levelled the score by smashing an equaliser in the 76th minute, the Guardian reported.

Everton will now play in the semi-final second leg against Manuel Pellegrini-led side on January 28.
