Johannesburg: Manchester City tasted defeat in their first match of the ongoing Champions League as Italian champions Juventus clinched a 2-1 victory over the former at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.

After the goalless first half, Juventus went behind in the 57th minute when Giorgio Chiellini scored an own goal for United, Sport24 reported.
But striker Mario Mandzukic equalized the score after 13 minutes.
However, it was striker Alvaro Morata, who scored the match-winning goal for Juventus in the 81st minute.
City suffered their first defeat of the season after their five straight wins in the Premier League.
City will next play against Mönchengladbach on October 1.
