England football great David Beckham loves to eat jellied eels. Speaking on the River Cafe Table 4 podcast, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star admitted that having grown up in the East end of London, he still likes to consume the traditional dish on a regular basis.

“Not many people I know love the jellied eels. I like them in the gelatine. They come cut up in slices and they come in the plastic pot and I just pour vinegar and pepper on it. I have them at least once a week now,” said Beckham, 46.
Beckham said that while he now likes a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon Sassicaia—red wine made in Italy—his parents used to enjoy much cheaper drinks. “At the end of the day, I’m from the East end of London so I only saw my mum and dad drink either Blue Nun or Lambrusco. And that was as good as it got,” he added.
