Midfielder Jian Shroff scored the lone goal from a direct 25-yard free-kick in the second half as Somaiya School (Vidyavihar) beat Rustomjee International School (Borivli) 1-0 in a MSSA boys U-16 Div-IV match at the St Francis D’Assisi High School ground, Borivli, on Monday. Jian’s swerving shot sailed over the outstretched hands of Rustomjee goalkeeper Rudransh Adurkar, who was beaten by the flight of the ball.

Earlier, Little Angels HS ‘A’ (Sion) beat General Education (Chembur) 2-1. Aayush Jakhmola gave General Education the lead before the Chembur side came roaring back with two goals. Akshit Nair netted the equaliser at the stroke of half-time while Rayankhan Pathan scored the winner in the dying moments of the match.
Also, Jankidevi Public School (Andheri), riding on Aariz Wangde’s 10th minute strike, defeated Greenlawns School (BP Road) 1-0, while JBCN School (Parel) prevailed over BKM High School (Babulnath) 2-0 margin. Rishaan H and Qaidjohar Bootwala scored a goal each for JBCN.
