Tensions came to a head at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday, following Real Madrid’s 2-1 win over Barcelona in a high-octane La Liga encounter. In the centre of it all was Barcelona’s teenage phenom Lamine Yamal.
The 18-year-old winger had been indulging in mind games prior to the season’s first El Clasico, particularly incensing the Los Blancos and their supporters over comments suggesting Madrid “steal” and “complain” with respect to refereeing decisions, which ultimately end up going in their favour.
