The Britain number one claimed his fourth title of the year after trouncing Djokovic 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 in a thrilling contest that lasted over three hours.
With the win, Murray also ended his eight-match winless streak against the Serbian as he beat Djokovic for the first time since the 2013 Wimbledon final, the BBC reported.
Murray also replaced Roger Federer as world number two in Monday's new ATP rankings following his semi-final victory over Kei Nishikori.
