Qualifier Aryan Goveas of Maharashtra and sixth seed Vijay Kannan of Tamil Nadu entered the singles semi-finals of the Khar Gymkhana All India men’s open tennis tournament on Friday.

Kannan endured a strong challenge at the fag end of the second set before ousting fourth seed Suraj Prabodh of Karnataka 6-3, 6-4, while Goveas got past Faisal Qamar of Rajasthan 6-2, 6-4 in a battle between qualifiers.
In the semi-finals, Kannan will clash with Kunal Anand of Delhi who overcame qualifier Shahbaz Khan 0-6, 6-2, 6-2, while Goveas will face third seed Haadin Bava who beat fifth seed Anvit Bendre 6-3, 6-3 in an all-Maharashtrian quarter-final tie.
