Bhattacharya, Jhangra rule at Ashok Kamte squash event

Former Indian squash player Vikas Jangra and Aishwarya Bhattacharya proved they were a cut above the rest as they won the men's and women's singles titles, defeating Jindal Squash Academy's Laxman Joshi and Urvashi Joshi respectively in the Rs 1 lakh prize money 4th Braveheart Ashok Kamte Squash Classic 2012, played at the Bombay Gymkhana Squash Courts, here yesterday.

Jangra, in a rich vein of form throughout the tournament, ended the game before showing tremendous reserves of stamina, combined with a fine combination of shots to win the final 11-5, 11-8, 15-13.


The women’s final saw an upset win for Aishwarya as she beat defending champion Urvashi 11-6, 6-11, 11-8, 8-11, 13-11.
