Kobe Bryant, who became the club's all-time minutes played leader, registered his 17th career triple double as the Los Angeles Lakers beat Sacramento 112-100 on Wednesday.

Bryant finished with 30 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds as the Lakers won their fifth consecutive game to open the 2010-11 National Basketball Association season.

Pau Gasol added 22 points and 11 rebounds, and Lamar Odom scored 18 for the Lakers, who have won seven straight against the Kings.

It was Bryant's 17th career triple-double and first since January 2009, against the Los Angeles Clippers. He had just two triple-doubles since 2005.

Heading into Wednesday's contest, Bryant needed just one minute of playing time to surpass Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the Lakers all-time minutes played record. He finsihed with 37 minutes Wednesday to surpass Abdul-Jabbar's 37,491 minutes as a Laker.

Bryant sank a pair of three-pointers in the opening minutes and then turned into passer. He had six assists in the first quarter as the Lakers turned up their offence.
