“Having a national player in your side is always an advantage and Chinglen Sana’s availability has been a big boost for us,” said WR coach Sunil Kumar Singh.

Sana, who has been in WR since 2009, has set his sights on bigger things. “I am training hard and hope to be part of the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympics team,” he said.

Sailors root for navy
nearly a 100 sailors, from the Navy post at Colaba, turned up to cheer their side in yesterday’s Super League final. Many finished their day’s work before arriving for the 6pm start, while others took a half day to cheer for their colleagues.

“Most of us don’t even know the names of the players in this team, but we have come here to support the Indian Navy,” said one of the navy spectators, who did not wish to be named.

Super scheduling
MHA secretary Ram Singh Rathore yesterday lauded the nine participating teams for their co-operation in ensuring the smooth conduct of the Super League across 24 days flat.

“It normally takes three to four months to finish this tournament, but this year, thanks to the co-operation of the teams we managed to conduct the League in 24 days flat,” he said.u00a0
