The 30-year-old Real Madrid and Portugal striker tops the list of 20 top international athletes that include World Wrestling Entertainment superstar Wrestling John Cena, women's World No 1 tennis ace Serena Williams and Brazil striker Neymar among others.
"Ronaldo raised money for various causes including donating more than $83,000 to a 10-year-old fan in need of brain surgery and giving more than $165,000 to fund a cancer centre in Portugal that treated his mother.
Generous Ron
"Ronaldo has also used his fame as a global spokesperson for a variety of causes including childhood hunger, obesity and biodiversity," Dosomething.org said about the Portuguese ace who earns £230,000-a-week in wages from Real Madrid besides endorsements and other deals.
In May, Ronaldo reportedly donated a whopping £5 million towards relief work following the devastating earthquake in Nepal that left over 8000 dead.
Meanwhile, India's top shuttler Saina Nehwal (right) was the only Indian in the list. The London Olympics bronze medal-winner was in the 18th position.
Afridi, the sole cricketer in list
Among cricketers, Pakistan's star Shahid Afridi is the only name that figures in the list. The former Pakistan captain is 20th among most charitable athletes.
