It was another battle royale between arch-rivals Don Bosco (Matunga) and St Stanislaus (Bandra) yesterday as they battled it out for the Nike-MSSAu00a0 Division-I boys under-16 inter-school football trophy at the Azad Maidan.
Tied on points, it was down to yesterday's encounter. Don Bosco had the benefit of a higher goal average and only needed a draw to lift the title.
Don Bosco went into an early lead as Adnan Khan's shot bounced over Stanislaus' goalkeeper. With the momentum going their way during the first session, Bosco soon pumped in another goal through Scott D'Souza to win 2-0 and lift the trophy.
Scott said: "A couple of years ago, I was playing in the under-14 side in a final against Stanislaus. I missed a penalty and we lost that game. Since then, I was waiting for revenge. It feels great that I scored when my team needed it the most.
"Although we only needed a draw today, our coach told us to go for an outright win and attack right from the start."
