Leo Fernandes, who kept goal for St Xavier's College and gymkhana and later Dynamos, a leading senior Harwood League team, passed away on July 26. He was in his early 80's. Leo's active sporting years were in the 1950s.

At St Xavier's, some of Leo's colleagues included renowned names like Olympian John Mascarenhas (1960 Rome), John Charles and Zito Extross. Later, Leo represented Dynamos, a team sponsored by late Bollywood actor Pran, and almost helped them win the Harwood League.

Leo leaves behind his wife, Irene, and three sons Keith, Neil and Mark.
