Johannesburg: Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg claimed his first victory after a gap of over four months by outpacing his team-mate Lewis Hamilton in the Mexican Grand Prix on Sunday.

Rosberg, who clinched the last title at Australian Grand Prix, was 1.9 seconds quicker than newly-crowned triple world champion Hamilton, who started second in the race.

Valtteri Bottas of Williams finished third ahead of Red Bull's Daniil Kvyat while Daniel Ricciardo and Felipe Massa ended the race at fourth and fifth place respectively, Sport24 reported.
Meanwhile, Nico Hulkenberg was seventh ahead of his Force India team-mate local hero Sergio Perez.
With the win, the 30-year-old German also clinched fourth win of the season and 12th victory of his career.
He moved back to the second place in the championship ahead of four-time champion Sebastian Vettel, who earlier crashed out in his Ferrari.
