FIA president Jean Todt insists there will be no knee-jerk reaction to the tyre crisis that has engulfed Formula One following Sunday's chaotic British Grand Prix.
The sport suffered one of the most embarrassing days in its history as Lewis Hamilton, Felipe Massa, Jean-Eric Vergne and Sergio Perez all suffered high-speed blowouts to their left-rear tyres.

“Unacceptable” was the overwhelming criticism that emerged from the debacle which has left Pirelli’s reputation in F1 in tatters.u00a0Unsurprisingly, with the next race in Germany just days away, there was a call from many within the sport for Pirelli to act urgently to ensure there is no repeat at the Nurburgring.
Although Todt has invited Pirelli to a meeting of the FIA’s Sporting Working Committee at the circuit on Wednesday, the belief is immediate action and not words is what isu00a0required now.
Todt, however, feels a degree of calm is also needed. Speaking to French television station Canal+, Todt said: “I had a meeting with officials from Pirelli who will obviously investigate all the incidents that occurred in recent days.
“They will come up with proposals for the important meeting with all the teams on Wednesday. This (problem) will be part of the priority agenda.
“From the moment there are safety issues we have to make the right decision, and not just respond emotionally.u00a0“We must analyse things and let the experts come together to meet after that. It will allow us to make a final decision.”
