The weekend fun of Avighna India MiD DAY Corporate Cricket Tournament continued as five new teams made it to the quarter-finals of the competition.

WNS Global, Larsen and Toubro, Diebold System, Edelweiss Capital and Dainik Bhaskar joined Future Group, Intellenet and Shinrai Toyota in the last eight.

However, Bank of America responded strongly as they took wickets at regular intervals. Vinesh then came to WNS' rescue and paved the way for their victory with his nine-ball 22.

Larsen and Toubro saw off Etisalat DB Telecom in a completely one-sided affair as they won the match by 36 runs.

Batting first, L&T smashed 104/6 in 10 overs. Then, Sujit and Ankit decimated Etisalat DB Telecom's batting as they gave away just 17 runs in four overs and claimed five wickets between them.

Diebold System thrashed Serco BPO by a huge margin of 51 runs. Prathmesh (23 off 11 balls) and Vinayak's (30 of 23 balls) brisk innings helped Diebold amass 116 runs. Requiring to score at more than 11 runs an over, Serco's chase never took off and they finished with 75 for seven.

Edelweiss Capital defeated Cleartrip Travel Services by 14 runs. In pursuit of 84 for a win, Cleartrip Travel Services began well with Roshdil (22) and Sakir (14), but were pegged back by Edelweiss pacer Sajjan's double blow.u00a0

Sajjan earned the man of the match for his four-wicket haul.

In the final game of the pre-quarters, Dainik Bhaskar Group comfortably accomplished a competitive target of 72 to beat Starcom by six wickets.

Prathmesh's all-round skills won him the Player of the Match award. He scored 21 off 17 deliveries and claimed a solitary wicket.
