Don Bosco (Matunga) won their fourth straight Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) U-16 Division I title defeating arch-rivals St Stanislaus (Bandra) at Azad Maidan yesterday
It was an evenly poised match with the lone goal coming at the stroke of 45th minute when Quentin Britto’s right-footer, which was going outside, went in following a deflection from Stanislaus’ Dermot Gracious.u00a0

However, title aspirants Campion (Cooperage) had to be content with the second-place finish for the second time after they drew 2-2 with Bombay Scottish (Mahim). Like last season, Bosco and Campion were on par with 25 points, but Bosco won on better goal difference.
Campion showed a lot of courage by leveling the score after trailing 0-2. Scottish’s Jaish Patwa scored a brace while Shlok Jain (39), Aryan Sood (49pen) restored parity for Campion. Shlok was given the marching orders in the dying moments when he tried to deflect the ball with his hand.
The title win surprised Don Bosco coach Leslie Machado. “
Campions were the clear favourites to lift the title this year and we just had an outside chance. But Bombay Scottish turned the tables by holding Campion,” said Machado.
