Defending world champion Lewis Hamilton of Britain took the 14th pole position of his career on Saturday as McLaren locked out the front row of the grid for the European Grand Prix.

"This is really great for me and for the team, but especially for Heikki," said Hamilton
"We have wanted this kind of performance, a one-two in qualifying for a long time. It proves that after all the troubles we have had this season, McLaren are back."
It was Hamilton's first pole since the Chinese GP last year and shows they are ready to be competitive again after Brawn GP and then Red Bull's domination this year.
