Aaradhya's precious knocks of 88 & 62, and his 10-wicket haul in the match (7-49 in the first innings and 3-61 in the second) helped his team stage a remarkable come back in the match.
Digambar Patkar school had posted 272 in the first innings after which Vibgyor were bowled out for 170. The Dadar school, riding on a 102-run lead, then scored 182, setting a target of 285 for the Goregaon lads.
Vibgyor cruise
Vibgyor looked in complete control of the proceedings as they were cruising on 229-3 at the tea break yesterday, with Daksh Agarwal and Chaitanya Pujara toying with Digambar Patkar's attack.
However, some sharp bowling from Aaradhya suddenly turned things around. The Digambar Patkar skipper first disrupted the furniture of Daksh for 55 and then had centurion Chaitanya caught and bowled for 143, sparking off a collapse. Vibgyor were eventually bowled out for 268 as the Dadar outfit erupted in wild celebration having snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.
Digambar Patkar coach Govind Koli lauded his boys for their spirited fightback. "At tea, we thought it's all over, but the boys put up a splendid performance to turn the game around in our favour," said Koli.
Musheer Khan
Musheer claims 8-42
Meanwhile, Mumbai cricket's prodigious spinner Musheer Khan was the standout performer for Anjuman-I-Islam (English), claiming eight wickets for 42 in an innings against defending champions Al Barkaat Malik Muhammad Islam (Kurla). The 11-year-old's efforts, however, went in vain as Al Barkaat won via first innings lead.
